Last Post is situated on the Bandelierkop Geological Complex in a scenic range of hills which form the transition between sweet bushveld and Lowveld. There is a variety of habitat types and high biological diversity; walking is the best way to explore the area. The birdlife includes Purple-crested Turaco, Gorgeous Bush-Shrike, Wahlberg’s Eagle and African Hawk-Eagle, Black-headed Oriole, Scarlet-chested Sunbird and Bennett´s Woodpecker. Orange-winged Pytilia may also be seen in the valley. There are two accommodation options: Camp Mocking Chat is situated high above a gorge with views of the surrounding countryside. It is a rustic camp accommodating 18 people in 6 rooms with a central kitchen, lounge, dining area and swimming pool. The Emerald Spot provides 3 permanent tents, campsites, a central kitchen and ablution facilities. Guided walks and drives are offered.
